Fluoride treatments at Ocean Dental involve the application of a concentrated form of fluoride directly to your teeth. This mineral helps strengthen the enamel, making your teeth more resistant to decay and cavities. Fluoride is especially beneficial for children and adults who are at higher risk for tooth decay.

The frequency of fluoride treatments depends on your individual dental health needs. Dr. Dahlquist may recommend fluoride treatments every six months during your regular checkups, or more often if you are prone to cavities or have other risk factors for tooth decay.

During a fluoride treatment at Ocean Dental, Dr. Dahlquist or one of our dental hygienists will apply a fluoride gel, foam, or varnish to your teeth. The treatment is quick and painless, usually taking just a few minutes. After the application, you may be advised not to eat or drink for a short period to allow the fluoride to fully absorb into your enamel, providing maximum protection against cavities.
