Digital X-Rays

Extraoral digital radiographs provide a view of the teeth as well as sinus and nasal areas. Using our imaging, you’ll even be able to see your wisdom teeth, which will help you determine whether you need to seek wisdom teeth removal. We use this type of imagining because it’s superior to many other types of dental imaging. You’ll see what we mean when you come in for your dental appointment.

Dental X-rays at Ocean Dental are essential for diagnosing issues that are not visible during a standard oral exam. They allow Dr. Dahlquist to see the condition of your teeth, roots, jawbone, and the surrounding structures. X-rays help identify problems like cavities between teeth, bone loss due to gum disease, impacted teeth, and other dental concerns that may require treatment.

The frequency of dental X-rays depends on your specific oral health needs. For most patients, X-rays are recommended once a year as part of routine dental care. However, if you have a history of dental issues or are at higher risk for certain conditions, Dr. Dahlquist may suggest more frequent X-rays to monitor your dental health closely.

During a dental X-ray at Ocean Dental, Dr. Dahlquist or a dental technician will position a small X-ray sensor inside your mouth, which captures detailed images of your teeth and jaw. The process is quick and comfortable, typically taking only a few minutes. With advanced digital X-ray technology, the radiation exposure is minimal, ensuring your safety while providing a clear and accurate view of your oral health.
